CyberHeroes San Diego
Who are we?
The National Center for Women In Technology is a non-profit community that convenes, equips, and unites change leader organizations to increase the influential and meaningful participation of girls and women — at the intersections of race, ethnicity, class, age, sexual orientation, and disability status — in the field of computing, particularly in terms of innovation and development.
This program is led by Sarika Pasumarthy, a 15 year old NCWIT Aspirations in Computing San Diego awardee, as part of the NCWIT AspireIT initiative. This aims to bring knowledge of STEM to others through a peer-led model and inspire girls to pursue a STEM education and career as they grow older.
This program is in partnership with Mr. Paul Johnson, the coach and lead for the CyberAegis Team corporation. This nonprofit seeks to share cybersecurity knowledge with students and the community by participating in several cybersecurity related competitions. The team has been highly successful, and remains the 2020 national champions of the CyberPatriot XII competition, organized by the Air Force Association
